Long Hill Road will be closed to through traffic

Construction for the replacement of the Long Hill Road culvert at the West Pond outlet is about to begin. Some initial work will begin as early as Wednesday, July 24th and will have minimal impact on traffic. The heaviest degree of construction will begin on Monday, July 29th, with a scheduled forecast for substantial completion of construction during the 2nd week of August.

Long Hill Road will be closed to through traffic between, Main Street (RT 117) and Meadow Road, from July 29th to August 9th. The roadway will be reopened as soon as construction conditions permit.

Access to and from the three homes immediately adjacent to the construction site will be allowed via the posted detour (see attached map).  

Detour -

• Main Street (eastbound) – Long Hill Closed, continue east to Meadow, turn right onto Meadow, follow to the end, turn left onto Long Hill.
• Main Street (westbound) – Long Hill Closed. Before proceeding to Long Hill Road turn left onto Meadow, follow to the end, turn left onto Long Hill.
• Long Hill Road (northbound) – turn right onto Meadow, follow to the end, turn left or right onto Main Street.
