Heat relief at the Bolton Public Library and Public Safety Building

The next few days will see record heat in the area.   This is a reminder to the community that two places of respite from heat are available in town, at the Library and Public Safety Building.

The Bolton Public Library will be open Friday 10 a.m. until 5 p.m., and Saturday 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. (NOTE: extended hours on Saturday!) for those who wish to take advantage of air conditioning during the heat wave.  The Library has PCs, books, magazines, jigsaw puzzles, wifi, and more to help folks pass the time as they cool off.  Visitors are also welcome to bring craft projects, games, etc. of their own.

Bolton Fire/EMS & Bolton Police have joined forces for the coming heat event to open the Public Safety Building at 15 Wattaquadock Hill Road as a public cooling center. It will be open from 11am to 7pm on both Saturday, July 20 and on Sunday July 21. This is not a shelter; no meals or services will be provided, but feel free to come down, cool off, have a glass of water and relax a few. Pets on leashes or in carriers are welcome as well.

Please encourage any who are in need---particularly those without a/c--to come to these locations to escape the heat for awhile!
