Roadways are for All to Use

Bolton hosted several meetings where comments and recommendations were gathered from citizens regarding our Complete Streets Prioritization Plan. Twenty-eight priority projects were identified based on all of the information gathered from the public. All projects were then evaluated under several criteria including frequency of the comments received, and improvement goals set by MassDOT. The resulting product is the creation of a valuable planning tool for Bolton's roadway infrastructure.

Once MassDOT approves our Prioritization Plan, Bolton will be eligible for up to $400,000 in grant funding to undertake any project identified on the plan.

Complete Streets are those that provide safe and accessible options for all travel modes- walking, biking, transit, and vehicles- for people of all ages and abilities. The Complete Streets Program is a MassDOT funded initiative to help municipalities make infrastructure improvements on municipally owned roadways to better serve all users. The Town of Bolton has started work on a Prioritization Plan, which will rank viable projects– community input is a vital part of the development of this plan.
