Bolton Public Library service update

The Bolton Public Library staff and Trustees are pleased to announce that we are offering contactless pickup of library materials.  Materials can be placed on hold using your valid C/W MARS account, or they can be ordered through our online form.  In order to ensure social distancing at pickup, an appointment is necessary to confirm a pickup time.  For details: http://www.boltonpubliclibrary.org/how-to-pick-up.html

The book return is open DURING THE LIBRARY'S SERVICE HOURS ONLY. Those hours are Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and Friday 10-5.  The drop will NOT be open on Saturday, Sunday, Monday, or any day before 10 or after 6. For more information: http://www.boltonpubliclibrary.org/how-to-pick-up.html  and scroll to the bottom of the page for How to Return

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

  • Why is the drop open during service hours only?  Thousands of potentially contaminated materials are coming back, and because handling those materials risks the health and safety of the library staff, we must limit the incoming flow to the hours that we can empty the drop.
  • Can I leave materials outside the drop? NO, you may not.  If you leave materials outside of service hours when the return is sealed, and those materials are lost, stolen, or damaged by weather, you will be fined for their replacement cost.
  • The due date of ALL MATERIALS is July 1 and will be extended as needed.  There is plenty of time to return your items.
  • Are all area libraries opening their services? Libraries are opening in accordance with local instructions, so services and dates may vary.  Check other libraries' websites or call them for available services.
  • I returned my items, so why are they still on my record?  All returned items are quarantined inside the library building for 72 or more hours after you return them.  To protect staff safety and health, we handle newly-returned items as little as possible, and we check them in after the quarantine period is over.
  • Can I order materials from other libraries? Unfortunately no, not at this time.  Interlibrary commerce and delivery has been suspended since mid-March, and at this writing we have no information about when it will be available again. When something changes, we'll let you know.
  • Can I come in and browse, or use a computer, or use the copier?  No, not at this time.
  • Can I come in to use the restroom?  Not at this time. Public restrooms are available at the Public Safety Building on Wattaquadock Hill Road.

The Library's service hours at this time are Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday 10-6, and Friday 10-5.  You can reach us by phone at 978-779-2839, email (general) library@townofbolton.com, or email (director) at  kcollins@cwmars.org

Once again we thank you for your patience as we offer services in the safest, healthiest way we can, using CDC and MA Department of Health guidelines as the pandemic is still very much a factor in our operations.
