  • A meeting of the Bolton Agricultural Commission was held on July 19, 2011 at Town Hall. The meeting was
  • called to order at 7:35 pm. Commission members in attendance: Betsy Taylor-Kennedy, Barbara Parente,
  • Richard Pelletier and Eric Schartner.
  • The June 2011 minutes were approved and submitted.

  • Reports from Liaisons to Town Boards/Commissions
  • Board of Health (open) : no report
  • Planning Board (Schartner) : no report
  • Board of Selectmen (Parente) : Caisse utility pole placement, Rich Pelletier was present
  • Conservation Commission (Pelletier):
  • Conservation Trust (Taylor-Kennedy): The Conservation Trust is working on the details of the
  • conservation restriction for the Weatherbee farm, approved at May Town Meeting and Town Elections.

  • Complaints/Requests for Site Visits

  • Old Business
  • Harvest Dinner -- Rich is rescheduling this event to a later date (possibly September)
  • Member Opening – Arranged for three interviews, however one did not attend. Those interviewed were
  • Chris Maitland and Robyn Roberts, both of whom also sent letters of intent. Edward Taylor neither came to his
  • interview nor did he submit a letter of intent. Betsy and Barbara will contact people they called to thank them
  • for coming and let them know a decision will be made next month.
  • AgRow at the Bolton Fair – All arrangements have been made for AgRow.
  • Animal Emergency Management Plan – Barbara will follow up with Sue Storbeck to obtain Sue’s notes on
  • her meeting with Jai Rezac and possible follow-up with police chief Alfano and Tom Moses (Emergency Mgmt
  • Coordinator).
  • New Business
  • Townshed Farm Utility Pole- Rich discussed a complaint he received from Nancy Caisse regarding the
  • placement of a utility pole at the intersection of Old Bay Rd. and Wattaquadock Hill Rd. Rich drafted a letter
  • for members to review and approve prior to the Selectmen’s meeting July 21, 2011. AgCom was encouraged to
  • attend and support Townshend Farm on this matter.
  • Awareness Activities – Members agreed to put AgCom brochures in various town businesses. Barbara will
  • get them to businesses east of Route 495, Betsy will get them to businesses in the town center, Eric will get
  • them to the Roadhouse, IGC and Twin Springs, and Rich will get them to businesses between the high school
  • and Bolton Orchards. Barbara will complete an article for local papers about farmstand openings and products
  • and send it for posting on the AgCom website as well.

  • August 16 – AgComm meeting, 7:30 pm upstairs at Town Hall
