The Resilient Derby Field Improvements project is an interdisciplinary effort by the Town of Bolton to implement climate resiliency practices at Derby Field. This FY24 MVP Program Action Grant will fund preliminary design specific to the rehabilitation and expansion of the existing Derby Field located off of Mechanic Street. A community workshop will focus on both providing information about the project to the public while soliciting input regarding signage and species choice for specific portions of the project.

The Nashua River Communities Resilient Lands Management project is a joint effort between the Towns of Bolton and Clinton to understand the potential for land use and land management policies and practices to support climate resilience and regeneration in the region over the coming decades. The tangible outcomes of this community- based process will include land management guides for forests, turf, and ornamental lands, model wetland bylaws and regulations that respond to the climate emergency, and a framework for ongoing community participation in decisions that affect the integrity and continued viability of our landscapes.

The Apple Country Natural Climate Solutions project is a joint effort between the Towns of Bolton and Harvard and the Devens Enterprise Commission to identify opportunities in the three municipalities to act on climate change using our natural systems to help reduce carbon emissions and enhance resilience.

The MVP Action Grant offers financial resources to municipalities that are seeking to advance priority climate adaptation actions to address climate change impacts resulting from extreme weather, sea level rise, inland and coastal flooding, severe heat, and other climate impacts.

Funding Source: MVP planning grant 

The MVP Planning Grant offers funding to municipalities that wish to assess their vulnerability to and prepare for climate change impacts, build community resilience, and receive designation from the Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs (EEA) as a Climate Change Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness (MVP) program municipality.
