Town Meeting

The Annual Town Meeting (ATM) in Bolton is held the first Monday in May per local bylaw.

The purpose of the Annual Town Meeting is to gather voters to decide the following:

  • It votes to appropriate money to run the town.
  • It votes on the town’s local statutes, called by-laws.

Every household receives a copy of the Annual Town Meeting Warrant in the mail. This warrant contains all the information that will be presented and voted in the Town Meeting.

The Town Meeting is run by the Town Moderator. Bolton, like many communities, uses the Town Meeting Time - A Handbook of Parliamentary Law as the guideline for running the Town Meeting.
