Board of Appeals
The Board of Appeals meets when required to hear an appeal from an applicant who has been denied some or all of his/her building application. Typically, an applicant seeking the right to develop or build on a property, who has received a negative decision of the Planning Board or Selectmen, may appeal that decision to the Board of Appeals. The Board also hears and issues decisions for variance applications under MGL Chapter 40A Section 10, and special permit application to expand or alter a pre-existing nonconforming structure or use under MGL Chapter 40A Section 6.
