Parks & Recreation - 2022 Summer Programs & Swimming Lessons

Monday - Friday 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM with BYO lunch, or Extended day 4:00 PM.    For extended day from 1:00-4:00 pm, it will be held at the Town Common only.  The kids will be doing a variety of activities, playing sports, yards games, water play and more crafts if interested.  All programs need to have at least 6 spots filled or else it will be cancelled.  You'll receive a notice at least 2 weeks prior.  If you need before or after care please contact Coordinator, Lisa Shepple email Parks@townofbolton.com.

For Boys & Girls, ages 4-12 years old, Location possibilities are @ Town Common, Memorial Field, Forbush Field & Nashoba Regional High School.  Drop off/pick up will be at Town Common. Except tennis will be at NRHS with no extended day option and they must be at least 7 years old.   You will also need to find your own transportation to Town Common if interested in extended day until 4:00 PM.

Costs:

  • Regular Costs: (Starting May 1st)
    • 9am-1pm - $205.00
    • 9am-4pm - $340.00 
  • Special sibling discount (For Bolton Residents ONLY)-  Register 2 or more for the same week and receive an additional $20.00 discount before May 1st only)

Program Descriptions:

All Sport – For ages 7+ Boys/Girls - Dodgeball, Flag Football, Kickball, Wiffleball, & Volleyball (w/beach ball if needed). They will be playing each sport during the week.

Baseball/Softball – For Anyone - They will learn how to improve their game. Skills such as fielding, hitting, base running, stance and team playing are taught, in addition to building your child’s confidence.

Basketball – For ages 7+ Boys/Girls - They’ll learn the basic techniques of shooting, dribbling, passing, rebounding, and defense.  The camp will not only provide a fundamental base for each young player, but will also be a fun and enjoyable experience for every camper

Dance – For Anyone - This is designed to suit all levels of dance, offering a recreational club atmosphere. The focus is on fun and creativity with instruction directed to improve the individual creative dancer’s needs. Each class starts with warm up, stretching and followed by instruction, games and group routines. A final dance performance is demonstrated on the last day of camp for the other members of the programs.

Field Hockey – For Girls ages 7+ - Through a variety of field hockey drills & development stations, they’ll be able to practice all of the techniques used in the sport, including: dribbling, passing, receiving, ball control & shooting all while building your child’s confidence & teaching them good sportsmanship.

Kids Town – For Anyone - is filled with fun games for all ages, creative arts & craft activities. Throughout the day, the kids will be switching off from games, to arts and crafts & even go for a nature walk around Town Common trail. They will get to explore & learn about what they find. There may even be some water play when it’s hot.

Lacrosse – For ages 7+ Boy/Girls – This will teach & reinforce the basic skills of catching, throwing, cradling, ground ball pick-ups, dodging, shooting, and defensive stick work, all while having fun and building confidence in young players.

Tennis – For ages 7+ Boys/Girls - They’ll learn to rally, serve, score and net play skills. They’ll help the players through a progression of skill building activities while having fun playing with friends. @NRHS no extended day there

Counselor In Training – For 13-15 Years old – Cost: $75.00  Time: 8:30 AM -1:30 PM

CIT’s work on responsibility, leadership, team building, communication, skill development and personal growth so that they can gain confidence & independence for wherever their future takes them. Do it with your friends and have fun playing with the younger kids.

CIT’s are highly recommended to attend an orientation with the Counselors on May 20th, 1:00 PM-3:00 PM

We will be adhering to the COVID guidelines from the State of Massachusetts at the time of the program begins, such as social distancing/masks, hand sanitizer/disinfecting surfaces, etc.
We must have at least 6 kids for each program or else it will be cancelled.  You will be notified 2 weeks in advance if this effects you.

Our program supervising staff will be trained and experienced in working with children and providing a safe environment for everyone. Our counselors will be 15 1/2 years or older and carefully chosen from Nashoba Regional High school along with the surrounding high schools. All staff will have the proper first aid training provided by Bolton Fire Department. As well as our supervising staff will be CPR & First Aid certified. 

All  the programs needs to have at least 6 spots filled or else it will be cancelled.  You'll receive at least a 2 week prior notice. At that time you may change to a different program or cancel with refund.

Cancellation Policy:

Swimming Lessons 2022

Welcome to the 2022 Swim Lesson Season! The Bolton Parks and Recreation Dept looks forward to a great year.  We hope to see all the kids down at the beach this summer either taking lessons or swimming in the water along with playing in the sand.

Swim lessons will be offered at Little Pond @ 75 Hudson Rd, for Bolton Residents ONLY.

Dates:

Session 1 - July 11th - 15th

Session 2 - July 18th - 22nd

Session 3 - July 25th - 29th

Costs: 

Early Bird: (Register Before April 30th)

      25 minute Pk lesson - $30.00  

      50 minute lesson -  $40.00

Regular Costs: (Starting May 1st)

     25 minute PK lesson - $40.00

     50 minutes lesson - $50.00

Please note, that regardless of your session time, there will always be lifeguards on duty during swim lessons. Additionally, we have again enlisted the help of our lifeguards during swim lessons to provide another level of safety as well as to provide our students with the attention they need to develop their swimming skills.

The swim lessons offered by the Bolton Parks and Recreation Commission are based on the Red Cross Learn to Swim Program, which teaches aquatic and safety skills in a logical progression. The objective is to teach children how to swim and to be safe in, on, or around the water.

 *The age range is a general guide to help parents determine the appropriate level for their child, but the Town Swim Instructors have the right to make a level change based on skill. 

Please note that the age minimum for the Preschool Aquatics program 4 years old, exclusive of the Parent & Child Aquatics level, and the age minimum for the Learn to Swim program is 6 years old, exclusive of the Preschool Aquatics level.
