The Conservation Department will host a walk led by our Conservation Agent to explore Vaughn Hills Conservation Area!

Come join us and step outside the comfort of your home for some fresh air, exercise & comradery!

Vaughn Hills is Bolton's second largest tract of Conservation Land protected in perpetuity under the managment of the Town's Conservation Commission. This property is made up of three large parcels with access from Vaughn Hill Rd. and Green Rd. There are two other access routes from Bare Hill Rd. and Woodside Drive with limited parking. The trail from Green Road is host to the Sullivan memorial putting to life a memory of one of Bolton's heroes. Further into the property teeming with wildlife we will come across a large beaver dam that has been in existence for at least 10 years. The snags and live trees throughout the impoundment area provide wonderful resources and bird habitat. (Feel free to bring your binoculars!) Over the river and through the woods up North Peak we go! The trail continues on toward North Peak, one of the highest points in Bolton. We will then return along the perimeter of the impoundment back to Green Road.

*Please note as a group of walkers who want you and your well-behaved dog to enjoy the property with us, if your dog will be joining we respectfully require you to keep your dog on leash. Also you must carry dog waste bags with you to remove what your dog may leave behind.*

We hope to see you there!
