Please Join Us At The HeatSmart Bolton-Harvard “Meet the Installers” Event Beginning March 1 in Bolton

We have been working with Mass CEC/DOER*, preparing for the HeatSmart Bolton-Harvard “Meet The Installers” informational events:

Thursday, March 1, 7 - 9 PM at Florence Sawyer School Auditorium, 100 Mechanic Street, Bolton.

Thursday, March 8, 7 - 9 pm at the Harvard Town Hall.

Residents of either town may attend either meeting. The agenda is the same for both and similar to “Meet the Installer" of Solarize Mass Bolton in 2016. It includes an overview, state financial incentives, presentations by Mass CEC, the installers, customer testimonials, a question and answer period, and time to meet both installers and sign up for a free, no-obligation site visit by them. You will also be able to sign up for an enhanced (to better prepare your home for heat pump installation) home energy assessment authorized by Mass Save exclusively for the first 100 HeatSmart Bolton-Harvard customers. There will be displays in the lobby for each technology, including an ASHP demo unit.

HeatSmart Mass is a pilot “group-buy” program, similar to Solarize Mass, but focussed on efficient heating and cooling technologies instead of Solar PV. We have selected air source and  ground source heat pump technologies (ASHP and GSHP or geothermal).  From eleven bidders, we worked with CEC to select the best installer for Bolton and Harvard for each technology:  Boucher Energy Systems for ASHP and Bill Wenzel Heating & Air Conditioning for GSHP.

The ASHP, optimized for cold weather, range from simple ductless mini splits to multi-splits having multiple indoor units with various types of mountings. Also included are Central Ducted systems, which may be able to use existing A/C ducts. GSHP may also be able to use existing A/C ducts or hot water floor radiant heating (but not cooling). Some homes may require duct modifications. Each system is highly customized to meet your needs, ranging from a room to an entire house. Existing heating systems, like baseboard resistive heating, may be retained as backup. ASHP and GSHP technologies efficiently use electricity, thus are particularly synergistic with PV Solar. We are also offering electric Heat Pump Hot Water Tanks that can significantly reduce energy consumption.

If you’re interested in saving money, helping the environment, and improving comfort by upgrading the heating/cooling system in your home or small business, please join us!  Please spread the word by Inviting your friends and neighbors and bring your questions!
