Minutes of Meeting

Attendees:

Chairman: Martha Remington, 

Members Present:  Jeannemarie Padovano, Robert Busch, Alice Coggeshall

Members Absent::  William Nickles, Stacy Haponik

1. Call to Order: The meeting was called to order at 6:00 pm

2. Minutes: The minutes of the Oct 04 meeting were reviewed and unanimously approved with minor changes.

3. 649 Great Road: It was reported that the FOSPRD hearing was closed.  The Commission has not yet received a promised letter addressing the environmental impact of the proposed project.

4. 258 Hudson Road: The door has been patched and other maintenance work has been completed as requested.

5.  Wilder Road culvert:  The wording for the planned plaque was discussed.  Commissioner Busch will research the proper title for S.V.S. Wilder before the mock-up for the plaque is finalized. It was noted that the DPW installed rip-rip as requested to prevent erosion and the work performed appears to closely replicate the original culvert’s construction. Disturbance of adjacent structures appears to have been  minimized.

6. Hillside Church Cornerstone:  Commissioners Remington, Coggeshall, and Busch reported that the cleanup work was completed as planned on Oct 15th.

7. Camp Virginia:  The citizen actions to acquire this property were discussed and it was noted that there will be a public site visit on Oct 28.

8. Upcoming Hearings: Hearings scheduled by other Town departments and Commission participation plans were discussed.

9. Mail: Received Historic New England magazine and solicitations from Historic New England and the National Trust for Historic Preservation.  The Commission unanimously voted to renew its Historic New England membership at the $60level,

10. Adjournment: The meeting was adjourned at 7:05; the next meeting will be held  01 November, 2017
