TOWN OF BOLTON
TREE WARDEN
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
In accordance with Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 87, Public Shade Tree Law, Section 3 (Cutting of Public Shade Trees; Hearing; Damages), the Town of Bolton Tree Warden will hold a Public Hearing upon the application of National Grid to prune and remove trees due to chronic tree outage problems affecting large numbers of customers served by its distribution lines along Main Street (Rt. 117). The program included a tree-by-tree hazard assessment of the three-phase distribution lines along these roads. Arborists completing the survey identified sixteen town trees for removal along Main Street. Town trees designated for removal have been posted in the field and also have a small red flag attached to the tree trunk.
The Arborists have also identified the overhangs on two town trees on Main Street that are prone to failure and threaten the safety and reliability of these lines. These trees have been designated for additional pruning to reduce or eliminate their risk of failure. Trees designated for pruning to reduce or remove overhangs have been marked with a small blue ribbon.
A complete list of town trees designated for removal under the reliability improvement initiative is available at the Town Hall, 663 Main St, Bolton, MA on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 9:00 AM to 2:30 PM, and on Tuesday from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The list is also available at the Bolton Police Station, at 697 Main Street.
The Public Hearing will be held at Town Hall, 663 Main Street, Bolton, MA, at 7:00 PM, October 10, 2006.
Any person interested or wishing to be heard on the above matter should appear at the time and place designated.
