MEETING ROOM
The Library’s basement meeting room is available on a first-come, first-served basis provided that meetings do not conflict with library services and programs, and that they conform to the Meeting Room Policy.
Application for use of the meeting room should be made to the Director.
There is no charge for use of the Meeting Room.
The meeting room may be used any time during the Library’s open hours.
Library programs will be given priority in the reservation of the room.
Meetings must be concluded 10 minutes before the Library is scheduled to close.
Meetings may not be held in public service areas on the ground floor.
No fees, dues, or donations will be charged by the user for any program.
The Library will not accept reservations for a series of meetings that would designate the Library as the regular meeting place for any group or organization.
Cancellation of reservations should be made to the Director 24 hours in advance. Failure to give notice of cancellation will result in loss of meeting room privileges.
Programs must not disrupt the use of the Library by others.
Persons attending the program are subject to all Library rules and regulations.
The meeting room must be left clean and orderly.
The individual who signs the request form assumes responsibility for any accidents or damages to the Library building or equipment. Accidents or damages must be reported to the Director immediately.
The Library staff is not responsible for materials or equipment left in the building by meeting room users.
Granting permission to use the meeting room does not constitute an endorsement by the Library staff or Trustees of the room’s users or their beliefs.
Meeting space will be denied to groups or individuals who
1. Discriminate in their membership, programs, or philosophy on the basis of race, color, creed, sex, or any other qualifier
2. Wish to hold private social functions
3. through the sale of materials or services, will financially profit from the use of Library space
4. are comprised of unchaperoned youth (persons under 18)
5. fail to abide by the Library’s policies
The Library’s TV and VCR are available for use in the meeting room. Users are assumed to be familiar with the operation of the equipment in advance of the meeting.
The user is responsible for setting up the meeting room to his/her requirements.
Alcoholic beverages may not be served in the library. No kitchen facilities are available. Refreshments may not be served.
No storage facilities are available.
