Solarize Mass Bolton Update

Solarize Mass Bolton Update

While SolarFlair continues completing installations, the sign-up portion of Solarize Mass Bolton has ended very successfully, with 54 contracts for PhotoVoltaic systems, totaling 441,080 Watts DC, well above the 400,000 Watt Tier 6 threshold. These systems will not only reduce their owner’s electric bills and National Grid's peak loads, but will also benefit our environment by annually offsetting 394 metric tons of carbon, equivalent to greenhouse gas emissions from a car driven almost a million miles.

Many thanks to the 222 home owners and small businesses who participated, and to Bolton Local, Bolton Access TV,  Volunteers, and the Town of Bolton for supporting this effort.

We will continue to maintain the website http://www.solarizebolton.org/home.html with emphasis on conservation…press the “Solar or not, you can still save energy.” button. We will also keep monitoring and responding to questions and comments via email: SolarizeBolton@gmail.com

In addition, we are very grateful to SolarFlair for their key role in Solarize Mass Bolton. We also appreciate their generosity in donating a free 5kW system for reaching Tier 6 (deserving candidates are under evaluation) and for an unexpected contribution to Bolton Youth Baseball.
