See the solar eclipse on Monday, 8/21!

As our moon orbits the Earth, it sometimes comes between the Earth and the sun and blocks the sun's light. Scientists call this a solar eclipse. There are three types of solar eclipses: total, partial, and annular. On August 21, we will experience a partial eclipse, where the moon blocks only part of the sun.

The 2017 solar eclipse will be visible in Bolton on Monday, August 21. The event will begin at 1:30 pm and end at 4 pm. The maximum point of the eclipse will occur at 2:45 pm. We will only be able to see a partial eclipse here in Bolton--and even then, only with special glasses, or a viewer that you can make at home.

The Bolton Public Library has information and links to help you view and understand the eclipse. Find it here: http://www.boltonpubliclibrary.org/solar-eclipse.html
