Last week for Lyn Slade's show at the Bolton Public Library

The Library's April gallery exhibit features the work of innkeeper (Charlotte's House B&B in Bolton), author (Creative Needle Felting: Wool Art with a Painterly Style, 2012), cookie baker extraordinaire, and fiber artist Lyn Slade. The show is called "Cosmic Connections."

Lyn writes, "Looking for a subject that would challenge the medium of needle felting I chose nebulae. After much experimentation I realized I wouldn't be able to create the layered depths of outer space using 100% felting. The nebulae pieces have backgrounds that I overdyed and painted multiple times, then added colorful wool roving. While working with the nebulae forms and colors I began seeing other objects in their mist. I chose to create a piece representing an earth-bound subject to pair with each of the nebulae."

The exhibit is open for viewing during the library's open hours (though there may be some restricted times when the space is booked for activities). The show's last full day is Thursday, April 27.
