About the COA questions

The Bolton COA is dedicated to serving Bolton residents who are 60 years of age and older. We strive to offer services and activities that specifically benefit our aging population, with opportunities for remaining active and healthy, meet new friends, learn, and volunteer. If you live in Bolton and are 60+ you are automatically eligible to participate in all COA programs and services. The COA aspires to create and support a 60+ community that is vibrant, active, engaged and supportive. Our programs focus on areas of health, education, art, socialization, nutrition, and recreation. As a town department, we work with other departments to provide the most comprehensive services to meet the needs of our 60+ citizens.

Programs offered by the COA include exercise and fitness classes, health clinics, information sessions on wellness, Medicare, nutrition, arts & crafts and an assortment of fun activities like picnics, field trips and music and social events. We endearvor to enhance the quality of living for those who may live alone and wish to remain both physically and mentally active. See the monthly Newsletter for details.

Regular on-going services provided through the COA include Meals-on-Wheels, counseling and referrals to government and non-profit support agencies and organizations, Medicare counseling, home visits and case management, and home heating fuel assistance.

shoppingWheels-to-Go mart

The COA provides transportation to 60+ and disabled residents for shopping, appointments, and other personal needs through the Montachusett Regional Transit Authority (MART) van.

The COA also sponsors periodic health, home safety, nutrition & personal wellness events and clinics that address the concerns and needs of our aging population.
