Mr. Frain called the Board of Selectmen’s meeting to order at 5:00 p.m.

INTERVIEW AND APPOINTMENT OF TREASUER/TAX COLLECTOR

Mr. Donald Lowe, Town Administrator, Donna Madden, Human Resources Director, and Ninotchka Rogers, Town Accountant interviewed Kristen Johnson Noel for the Treasurer/Tax Collector position.  Mr. Lowe stated that they unanimously agreed that Ms. Noel had a good technical background with a great deal of experience and would fit in well at the Town Hall.

Ms. Noel stated she started her municipal career in 2007 as a Tax Collector and later became the Treasurer for Hardwich, and made the transition to Hubbardston where she has been for approximately 4-1/2 years.  She has learned a lot and is excited to bring her experience to the Town of Bolton

Ms. Noel sees a lot of similarities between Bolton and Hubbardston, including the population, working with regional school systems, payroll software and tax title collection.  When working in Hubbardston she transitioned to the CAMA system and made a lot of efficiencies as time when on.  Ms. Noel stated she has a non-confrontational personality and she treats everyone with respect when communicating with the taxpayers.

Ms. Madden stated that this position is one of the most important positions in town and she couldn’t feel more confident in someone taking over than Ms. Noel.

On a motion made by Wysocki and seconded by Keep, the Board of Selectmen voted to appoint Ms. Noel for the Treasurer/Collector position.  (Frain – yes, Keep – yes, Wysocki – yes)

Ms. Noel was welcomed by the Board of Selectmen, Mr. Lowe and Ms. Day.  Mr. Lowe stated that Ms. Noel is inheriting a department that is extremely well run which is due to Ms. Madden.  Ms. Madden has done a good job with this department and is extremely dedicated.  Ms. Madden was thanked by the Board of Selectmen. 

On a motion made by Wysocki and seconded by Keep, the Board of Selectmen voted to adjourn at 5:15 p.m.  (Frain – yes, Keep – yes, Wysocki – yes)
