Senior Walking Program – “Take a Walk, Take in a Game”
The Bolton Parks and Recreation Commission is organizing a Walking Program targeted toward active seniors this spring and summer. The “Take a Walk, Take in a Game” program will lead people on a healthy-paced walk from the senior center to Memorial Field where the group will stop and take in a game – watching the different leagues from the Bolton Youth Baseball Association (BYBA). After the game, the walk will continue through Memorial, behind Florence Sawyer on the wooded path back to the senior center.
For those interested in a shorter route, a second start point will be assembled at the intersection of Mechanic and Main Street. Registration is not required and the weekly walks will be based on the BYBA schedule. The Parks and Recreation Commission will post the date/time of the weekly walks online and at the senior center once the BYBA schedule is finalized. Walks will be weather permitting.
The Bolton Parks and Recreation Commission seeks an active senior interested in leading the walks. Interested people should email: parks@townofbolton.com or call Sheila Chmielowski, senior center director, at 978-779-3313. Non-seniors are also welcome to participate.
