The Design Review Board (DRB) is an advisory committee appointed by the Planning Board for a term of one year. The DRBAassists in the review of any project being reviewed under Bylaw Section (page 87).  Design Review Criteria was adopted by the Town at its May 2011 Town Meeting and provides advisory professional design review to the Planning Board, Zoning Board of Appeals and the Board of Selectmen.

All commercial development projects subject to Special Permit by the Planning Board, Site Plan Review by the Board of Selectmen and Special Permits and Variances issued by the Zoning Board of Appeals are subject to review by the DRB.

Design Goals: Buildings and renovations shall be of a design similar to or compatible with traditional architecture in the Town of Bolton in terms of scale, massing, roof shape, spacing and exterior materials. The design standards are intended to promote quality development consistent with the Town's sense of history, human scale and pedestrian-oriented village character.
