The meeting opened at 10:05 A.M.. The Secretary's report was read and accepted. The Treasurer reported $7,866.71 in the town grant and $2,148.46 in the state grant. Shirtley Sefton has 6 people receiving "Meals on Wheels". The deadline for the newsletter is Nov. 16.
The Cultural Council has fully funded our request for a grant for a program to be presented to the seniors in the Spring of 2007. The next police program will be Nov. 30 at noon. It will be on first aid and CPR. The Dec. program is yet to be announced, but the Bolton Police will provide a Christmas Lunch for all the seniors to be held at the senior center.
The Childrens Horizon group will come to sing for the seniors on Dec. 21. A motion was made and seconded stating that the senior center will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 23 and also on Tues. Dec 26. The center will be open on Thur. Dec. 28.
The deadline for reservations for the Christmas Banquet is Nov. 28. The 2008 budget is due on Nov. 13. Sheila has been diligently working on this which will include $6,500 for our M.A.R.T. Van. Sheila has received a letter of acceptance from M.A.R.T.. An AD for hiring a driver for our M.A.R.T. van has been written and revised and re-written and will be in the newspaper soon. There is still a lot to be worked out.
The Council on Aging voted unanimously to name Marcia Flerrra to be our new member. Marcia will join us at our next meeting which is Dec.5.
