Public Hearing
The Board of Appeals of the Town of Bolton will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at 7:00pm in the Town Hall, Bolton, to act upon the application of the Town of Bolton seeking a Special Permit and Variances for the Public Library located at 738 Main Street.
The Applicant is seeking:
1. A Variance for relief from a provision of the Bolton Zoning Bylaws, Section 2.3.5.6 (b) which requires a building height of no more than thirty-two (32) feet above the average ground elevation. The proposed addition to the existing structure is 3’6” above the height restriction.
2. A Variance for relief from a provision of the Bolton Zoning Bylaws, Section 2.3.5.6 (a) which requires the surface of the top occupiable floor be no more than fifteen (15) feet above the average ground elevation. The proposed addition to the existing structure exceeds this restriction.
3. A Variance for relief from a provision of the Bolton to Zoning Bylaws, Section 2.3.5.2, of the Dimensional Schedule to allow the construction of an addition to the existing structure 17.25 feet from the rear lot line where 20 feet is required.
4. Issuance of a Special Permit to expand or alter a Pre-existing Nonconforming Structure pursuant to Section 2.1.3.3 of the Bolton Zoning Bylaw to allow the expansion of the existing structure.
The application and plan are available for review at the Town Clerk’s Office in the Town Hall during the following times: Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 9am – 2:30pm; and Tuesday from 9:00am – 4:30pm and 6pm – 8pm.
