Town of Bolton
Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for
Design Services for the
Public Safety Building
The Town of Bolton, through the Bolton Public Safety Center Construction Committee (PSCCC), pursuant to MGL Ch. 7, Sec. 38A1/2 - O, requests qualifications from registered and qualified firms for architectural and engineering design services, including schematic design, design development, construction documents, bidding, and construction management for the Town-approved renovation and expansion of the Bolton Fire Station into a Public Safety Center, housing the police, fire and ambulance departments located at 15 Wattaquadock Hill Road, Bolton, MA. The design work should begin in Spring 2008 with scheduled construction completion by Winter 2009/2010. The estimated construction cost is $4.2 million. Minimum requirements include current license and registration by the Commonwealth of Mass. as an architect or professional engineer, with a minimum of 5 years experience. Prior experience designing and renovating public safety buildings is preferred. The designer’s fee will be negotiated with the top ranked firm.
The RFQ documents will be available after 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 9, 2008 in the Town Administrator’s office, 978-779-3300 or by email: townadministrator@ townofbolton.com. Qualified persons or firms must submit proposals no later than 2:00 p.m. on April, 24, 2008 addressed to: Bolton Public Safety Center Construction Committee, c/o Jodi Ross, Town Administrator, Town Hall, 663 Main Street, Bolton, MA 01740. Questions should be directed to Jodi Ross at 978-779-3300 or townadministrator@ townofbolton.com. The PSCCC will evaluate proposals and make a recommendation to the Bolton Board of Selectmen, who is the Awarding Authority, and reserves the right to reject any and all proposals, to waive any defects, informalities, and minor irregularities; and to award contracts or cancel this RFQ if it is in the Town’s best interest to do so.
